The Vorarlberg police warns of a Corona fraud scam, in which the perpetrators pretend to be employees of the nursing association, for example.
An as yet unknown man rang the doorbell at the apartment door in a residential block in Dornbirn at around 1:45 pm. When the elderly resident opened the door, the man told her that he was supposed to carry out corona tests in the name of the Mobile Assistance Service or the Nursing Association.
The unknown man asked the woman to urinate into a cup so that he could perform a Corona test afterwards. The woman then went to the bathroom, but returned shortly afterwards without having done so. The man then left the apartment.
However, it can be assumed that the man, who was of course not acting on behalf of MOHI or the nursing association, searched the premises for valuables during the elderly woman’s absence.
The suspected perpetrator is a man about 25 years old, about 180 cm tall, slim and without a beard. He spoke Vorarlberg dialect and was not wearing a mouth and nose protection.
